Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains how Finances (also shown as "Finanzas"), a personal finance app for iPhone, handles your personal data. Finances is developed by Kevin Davezac, trading as devsolutions, based in Dublin, Ireland ("we", "us").
Who is responsible for your data
Kevin Davezac (devsolutions), Dublin, Ireland, is the data controller for the processing described here. You can contact us at any time at devsolutionsite@gmail.com.
Our approach: your data stays on your device
Finances does not have user accounts and does not run a server that stores your financial data. Your accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, subscriptions, payslips and leave records are stored only on your iPhone. We cannot see them, and we do not have a copy of them.
What data the app processes
- Bank data, if you connect a bank. With your explicit consent, the app retrieves read-only account information from your bank: account names and identifiers (such as IBAN), balances and transactions, including the amount, date, description and, where the bank provides them, the counterparty's name and account details. The app cannot move money or make payments.
- Payslip data. When you add a payslip from a photo or PDF, the text is read on your device using Apple's built-in text recognition. Images and payslip details are not uploaded anywhere.
- Information you enter. Manual accounts, categories, budgets, rules, subscriptions and notes you add yourself.
- IP address, briefly. When the app talks to your bank, it asks our website for your device's public IP address and passes it to Enable Banking, so your bank knows you are actively using the app. Our website does not store this address.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we collect your email address to let you know when Finances is available and to share news about the beta. It is stored in a Google Form owned by devsolutions (Google is our processor). We keep it until the app launches publicly or until you ask us to remove it, and you can unsubscribe at any time by writing to devsolutionsite@gmail.com. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
How bank access works
Bank connections are provided by Enable Banking Oy (Finland), a provider authorised to offer account information services under the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2). When you connect a bank, you log in on your bank's own page and approve access there. We never see or store your banking username or password. Enable Banking processes your data under its own terms and privacy policy, available at enablebanking.com.
Access lasts for the period you approve, which is set by your bank (often up to 180 days). You can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting the bank in the app, or through your bank.
Why we process your data (legal basis)
- To provide the features you ask for, such as showing your balances, categorising transactions and calculating your payslip figures and leave balance (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To retrieve bank data, based on the explicit consent you give to your bank and to Enable Banking (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and PSD2).
Who else is involved
- Enable Banking Oy, which connects to your bank, as described above.
- Your bank, which provides the account information you authorise.
- Google, which stores waitlist sign-ups through Google Forms.
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website, including the page that sends you back to the app after you approve access at your bank. As with any website, Vercel may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security and operation.
We do not sell your data, show advertising or use analytics or tracking tools.
How long data is kept
Data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app. If you export a backup file, you decide where it is stored. Bank access ends when your consent expires or when you withdraw it.
Security
Data is stored on your iPhone and protected by iOS security. Credentials used to connect to Enable Banking are kept in the iOS Keychain. Connections to Enable Banking and to this website are encrypted (HTTPS). You can also lock the app with Face ID.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because your data is stored on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app, for example by editing or deleting records or disconnecting a bank. For anything else, write to devsolutionsite@gmail.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Children
Finances is intended for adults and is not designed for people under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the app.
